I start this adventure in 13 weeks. Wish it would hurry up. Will be posting video blogs of the stupid shit I get up to.

UNDER THE KNIFE
The day arrived yesterday. The day that I had to get my dreaded wisdom teeth out. I hate the dentist at the best of times, but the surgical removal of my wisdom teeth whilst being awake was next level. I can’t say the operation was a painful exercise, but I will say it was unpleasant. Hearing the roots of my teeth snap as a 100kg surgeon has his knees on my chest, yanking at my mouth wasn’t the most enjoyable way to spend my afternoon.
During my time in the chair, it got me thinking. What makes a person want to become a dentist? I am sure prior to making this decision one would’ve attended a dentist appointment once in their lifetime, and let’s face it, you never walk out of there thinking “fuck I can’t wait til my next appointment”.
Do you think Dr. Jimmy sat there as a little boy in that same reclining chair, while his dentist forced all sorts of tools inside his mouth and thought to himself, “hey, I’d love to put somebody through this ordeal one day” ? To me that’s pretty sadistic, and just a fraction creepy. It’s quite easy now to see how they wrote the classic 1996 horror film “The Dentist”. To me that is not a horror film. It’s fiction.
In the end it was a 45 minute job to remove my teeth, and it cost me the better half of $800. I guess that’s one reason to become a dentist.
I will leave you with a realistic quote that I think would come from an everyday dentists home.
Wife: “Hi Hunny how was work?”Dr Jimmy: “It was great love, ripped out seven teeth and dished out 49 stitches, it’s a new record”Wife: “I am so proud of you!”
To me, that is just not right.
